Throughout the Winter Season, we will have soup and snacks provided as an opportunity to share a meal as we settle into our time together

Community Conversations is a way to build community through conversation. Coming together as a community is something we highly value at Satya. While each of us leads lives across a diverse array of experiences, beliefs, and backgrounds, the practice of yoga is what unites us all – building a greater connection with ourselves, and each other.

Community Conversations is a space where members of the Satya community – and beyond – continue the unifying practice of yoga through purposeful, facilitated conversations. Much like the physical practice of yoga asana (poses), the practice of intentional conversation is a practice of connection and awareness. As we exercise our capacity for purposeful and patient communication, we gain a greater understanding of ourselves and others, build a stronger sense of community, and carry compassion forward into the rest of our lives.

This practice integrates fundamental tenets of yoga philosophy, namely ahimsa (nonviolence) and satya (truth), while using the framework of Community Building Circles (CBCs) to facilitate the intentional time together. In each 90-minute gathering, Madison will guide participants through thoughtfully prepared questions that center around a particular theme, to which all participants have the opportunity to respond. In order to ensure a respectful space for all, conversations follow community-established guidelines. Read more about these down below.

CURRENT THEME THROUGHOUT WINTER 2025: Quiet Curiosity

This season of Community Conversations will center around the theme of Quiet Creativity

Creativity is often thought of as an entirely generative happenstance. The process of creativity is something admired because of how it unfolds, with appreciation of one's creativity being dependent upon experiencing their product of self-expression. Yet so much of the creative process is just that -- a process. One's creativity is often quiet, imperceptible to others. Much like the roots of a tree expand beneath our feet and beneath our awareness so that it can grow itself to greater heights, the creative process endures incredible challenges underneath the surface as we contemplate how our unique expression of the self can be shared with the world.

The season of winter serves as a reminder for us to draw inward and cultivate a self-awareness that is intimately connected to the process of creativity. Together, our community will reflect upon this unique form of self-expression through intentional dialogue guided by compassion and curiosity. As we share our sense of self with one another, we will build awareness around the complex yet quiet nature of creativity.

Conversations in this theme will start January 15th and continue through the end of winter.

  • Yin & Astrology: Transition of Winter
    with Hollie Meador
    利用可能なパッケージ:
    $45.00One-Day Workshop (2026-03-14)

Join Hollie for a time of preparation as we move from the depths of Winter to the lightness of Spring. Pulling from astrological, taoist, and other ancient & modern philosophies, we will honor the transition of Winter to Spring. This is a time to sweep away the cobwebs, break free of what has been restrictive, and begin taking action toward our growth. We move passionately, using the cultivation of our dreams to become a fruitful reality.

Pulling from astrological, taoist, and other ancient philosophies, we will honor this initiatory energy through contemplation of the essence of the season. We will review how this time of year was translated in ancient astrology, look at current astrological movements of the stars, and find threads of integration with how it is connected to our own bodies through theories of Traditional Chinese Medicine.

During this practice we can spend some time looking at individual birth charts. Reach out to Hollie if you need a copy of yours.

The workshop will conclude with a contemplative Yin practice where we can allow the activity of the mind to settle into the wisdom of the body.

  • From Clarity to Courage: A Breathwork & Group Coaching Experience
    with Vivian Lee
    利用可能なパッケージ:
    $40.00One-Day Workshop (2026-04-25)

You’ve heard the calling - a quiet nudge toward something more aligned, more alive, more you. Maybe it’s a career shift, a creative pursuit, or a lifestyle change you can no longer ignore. Or perhaps life has become so overwhelming or uncertain that you simply need space to pause, reconnect, and remember who you are.

Through pranayama breathwork, guided reflection and a group coaching circle, we’ll bring that quiet conviction into more clarity and create space for your inner wisdom to be heard. From this embodied place, we’ll gently explore the fears, self-doubt, and limiting beliefs that can keep us stuck, and begin to cultivate the courage to take aligned action.

    What you can expect:
    - A brief introduction to pranayama breathwork, followed by a deep, guided breathwork practice, accompanied by music and designed to balance your nervous system
    - Space for journaling and self-reflection to capture any observations and insights from the breathwork practice
    - A glimpse into your innate ability (with just your breath!) to access a desired feeling state
    - Guided coaching prompts to help translate insight into courage through aligned action, however big or small
    - An invitation to share in a judgement-free group setting, with gentle guidance, connection and support
